C. Hook Theater auditions for the 2017 production of YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN will be held:

Monday, January 23 from 4:00pm – 5:30pm
Tuesday, January 24 from 4:00pm – 5:30pm

All current 9th – 12th grade students

What:
Open auditions. You may come either day. Must choose a song from C. Hook Theater website.
If under 18 you must have a parent signed audition form.
Bring a current (school type) photo with you (photos will not be returned). Auditions are on a first come basis, so come early. If you are under 18 years of age, you MUST have parent signed audition form. Auditions will be closed and private; therefore no one (including parents) will be allowed to watch auditions. The wait time should be approximately 30 minutes.
Audition Songs:
(Please note the information below is an important change from previous years).
All prospective cast members must choose songs provided by C. Hook Theater via the “Auditions” section of the C Hook Theater website. Music and lyrics are provided. One of these songs must be chosen for the audition. On the day of the audition, C. Hook Theater will provide the music for the song that is chosen. There is no need to bring an iPod, CD etc.
NO OTHER MUSIC WILL BE ALLOWED
Call Backs:
Call back selections will be posted according to your audition number on the website on Wednesday, January 25 at 3:00pm. Call back auditions will be held Thursday, January 26, from 4:30pm - 6:00pm in the La Mesa Arts Academy. It is your responsibility to check the posted "call back" list. NO phone calls will be made. Potential cast is required to be there the entire 1.5 hours. Be on time. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you can move in.
Cast Selection:
Final cast selections will be posted Sunday, January 29 at 4pm on the website. No phone calls will be made. Cast Members will be expected to register online after the Cast Selections are announced.
Registration/Script Night:
Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 6:00 - 7:00pm at La Mesa Arts Academy. We will discuss cast and parent responsibilities. We will have refreshments during this orientation.
Production Fee:
Each cast members will be required to raise $330 to participate in the production.
All cast member production fees are due on Monday, February 27, 2017. Production fees may be paid during online registration.
Parents:
Family support is necessary for this production to be successful. All parents will be asked to be a part of a production committee. Everyone will be required to sell tickets.
Rehearsals:
Two Initial Read Through Rehearsals are scheduled for Thursday, March 9, 2017 and Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 5-7pm.
A complete rehearsal schedule will be posted on this web site after Registration/Script Night. Rehearsals are generally held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5-7pm and most Saturdays 8am-11am at La Mesa Arts Academy. The final week of rehearsals will be held at the Joan B. Kroc Theater.
C. Hook Theater:
This is a self-supporting production relying on volunteer time and fund raising efforts. It takes a spirit of cooperation among the directing team, the production team and the families of the cast to create an experience of lasting value. The cast learns character analysis and how to interpret the parts, songs and dances as part of the complete performing arts process.
